Super Cicada

Here is my hero character, Super Cicada. Every few hundred years, he emerges from the earth to save the world. He was given the gift of rebirth, transformation, and immortality. I mocked up a Super Cicada comic cover with him holding his sword. I titled it "The Brood Awakening."

This project was done in Pablo Munoz Gomez' The Extra Mile 2.0 Cohort 02/03 course. Sculpted in ZBrush on a Wacom Mobile Studio Pro, textured in Substance Painter 2024 , posed in Character Creator 4, rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 4, and composited in Photoshop. It was a challenging and fun project. I'm very happy with the final result. I am looking forward to applying what I learned in the Extra Mile 2.0 course on my future projects. I recommend the course to anyone wanting to level up their skills. The course is very in-depth, covering not only ZBrush but also 2D concepting, 3D blockout, uvs, texturing, lighting, rendering, compositing, and more. Thanks to Pablo and the TEM community for the feedback and inspiration.

The 3D print was prepped in ZBrush and printed on an Anycubic Photon Mono X and Anycubic Wash and Cure machine. I used the gray and clear Anycubic ABS-Like Resin Pro 2. The supports were done in Chitubox and sliced in the Anycubic Photon Workshop.
